Positive: More rest

The first positive that comes of the Patriots not playing until Tuesday rather than Sunday evening is that they get a few more days to rest and get back to being fully healthy while they prepare to go on in the regular season.

Although the reason for the delay in the game isn’t a positive one, this will give New England an opportunity to go through basically half of a bye week after playing last Sunday in Week 3.

With about a week and a half off between games, assuming the game in Week 4 does indeed take place on Tuesday as rumored to be the case, the Patriots will have an opportunity to rest their legs and focus on who will be taking the field on Tuesday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Not only will the extra days of rest allow New England to prepare itself for the game in Week 4, but it will also give it more time to prepare for the potent squad on the other side of the field at the same time.

The 2020 year, both within football and out of football, has been an interesting one to say the least. Although it’s not common to see a team have this amount of time off between games on a non-bye week, this season is an unusual one under unusual circumstances for many reasons. But at the very least, the delayed game date from Sunday to Tuesday will give the Patriots some more time to rest up ahead of the Week 4 game and beyond.
