Through the first three games this season, the Chargers and Buccaneers have gone in two different directions.

For Los Angeles, they’ve started the season at 1-2 with a turn for the worse. The offensive line has struggled quite a bit to start the year and they have rookie Justin Herbert starting at quarterback. But at the same time, one of their losses came giving the Chiefs their toughest game in the opening stretch, which is a testament to the Chargers defense.
As for the Buccaneers, Tom Brady and Tampa Bay have been one of the better offenses in the NFL. They started the year with a disappointing loss to the division rival Saints as it was clear that the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback was still getting comfortable and developing chemistry with his long list of playmakers at his disposal.
Having said that, they’ve combined for 59 points in their past two games, beating the Panthers and Broncos in those games. Furthermore, the Bucs defense has been quietly great since the end of last year, which is interesting as they come up against a rookie quarterback in NFL Week 4.
While Tampa Bay won’t have Chris Godwin, the battle between Brady’s Bucs offense and the Chargers’ top-tier defense should be quite entertaining. These two clubs should deliver a fun game, especially for football nerds who love the minutia of the game.
