4. Wilson throws for 350 yards

The “Let Russ Cook” movement finally saw its fulfillment this season. Carroll wanted the offense focused on the running game since the Marshawn Lynch days. However, after Lynch left Seattle, the Seahawks haven’t experienced overwhelming success with the running game. Chris Carson restored some hope for the ground attack, but Seattle always turned to Wilson in late-game scenarios.

With Carson recovering from the beatings he took last season and newcomer Carlos Hyde joining the team shortly before Week 1, Seattle let Wilson throw the ball 35 times against the Atlanta Falcons. The result was a 38-point barrage that included four passing touchdowns and only four incompletions.

Through four weeks, Wilson is leading the league in completion percentage (75.2%), passing touchdowns (16), and passer rating (136.7). This is no longer a run-first offense.

3. Cook held to 70 rushing yards

The Seahawks can’t get any pressure with their pass rush, but Ken Norton Jr.’s defense performs well against the run. Seattle ranks third in run defense, allowing 75.8 rushing yards per game. For reference, the Pittsburgh Steelers are first, allowing 54.0 yards per game, while the Houston Texans are giving up 181.8.

Seattle isn’t facing terrible running teams either. While Atlanta and Dallas rank in the bottom half of the league, the New England Patriots are second with 178.0 rushing yards per game. In Seattle’s Week 2 matchup against Bill Belichick’s team, the Seahawks limited Cam Newton’s offense to 67 yards on the ground.

The trio of Poona Ford, Bobby Wagner, and K.J. Wright puts in work along Seattle’s defensive front. Jamal Adams is also tremendous against the run, but he’s officially listed as out for Sunday’s matchup. Dalvin Cook leads the NFL with 424 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
