Stud: Strong first half

The first stud that took place in the game on Sunday night for the Vikings was the strong performance put on display in the first half on the road.

Somewhat surprisingly, Minnesota got off to a really solid start to the game and held one of the top offenses in the league in check for the first half. The Vikings managed to get on the board first and hold the Seahawks scores in the first two quarters to take a 10-0 lead into halftime.

In the first quarter, Dalvin Cook tallied the lone touchdown for either team in the opening half, it coming on a rushing touchdown to spark a 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, Minnesota added two field goals to extend that lead to 13 unanswered.

Getting off to a quick start on the road is always a positive, and the Vikings certainly did that on Sunday.

Dud: Dalvin Cook leaving with an injury

The first and probably most important dud that took place for any Vikings player this weekend was Minnesota running back Dalvin Cook exiting the game early in the second half.

Following one of the first plays offensively in the third quarter, Cook pulled up after a rushing attempt while looking to have suffered a groin injury of some sort.

Cook exited the game immediately and went back to the locker room to get looked at by trainers, but wasn’t able to return to the field for the remainder of the game for Minnesota.

Other players stepped up in Cook’s absence, which was great to see, but the Vikings will need their star running back healthy and back on the field for the rest of the regular season.
