Atlanta Falcons: 5 General manager candidates that could turn franchise around
2. Mike Borgonzi
Whenever you are successful as a franchise, everyone wants a piece of that success and that often results in coaches and front office personnel leaving an organization to take a larger role within another.
That might be the case for Mike Borgonzi, who is the Director of Football Operations with the Kansas City Chiefs, this offseason.
The longtime Chiefs front office employee could be an interesting piece for Atlanta to look at to try and bring some of that success to the Falcons both in 2021 and beyond as the team’s general manager.
Borgonzi has been with Kansas City for 10 years and has helped the organization turn into one of the top teams in the NFL while helping build a solid roster on the field. Since he joined the Chiefs in 2009 as a College Scouting Administrator, Borgonzi has climbed the ranks within the organization with being promoted six times in those 10 years.
Leading up to his position as Director of Football Operations, which he took over in 2018, Borgonzi has held titles of College Scouting Administrator, Manager of Football Operations, Pro Personnel Scout, Assistant Director of Pro Scouting, Co-Director of Player Personnel and Director of Player Personnel. This offseason, he could be the next general manager of a team in the NFL.
Borgonzi has an impressive resume and could be one of the top options to target for Atlanta as it searches for a general manager to take things over in the front office this offseason.
