Stud: Cam Newton on the ground

One thing we have seen with Cam Newton is his ability to be a dual-threat quarterback that oftentimes uses his legs in the run game and also can air things out in the passing attack as well.

In the Week 6 contest against Denver on Sunday afternoon in Foxborough, Newton led the Patriots ground game throughout the course of the matchup, reminding us all how dangerous he can be and how valuable he is to the New England offense.

In the game, Newton finished with a team-high 10 carries for 76 yards, adding one touchdown on the ground along the way. The veteran quarterback was dominant using his legs once again in Week 6, to say the least.

Dud: Cam Newton through the air

Although Newton did well in the ground game on Sunday afternoon, that wasn’t the same case for his performance through the air in the passing game. Newton struggled throwing the ball for the Patriots en route to the loss, not doing much to help New England find the endzone more than once during the game.

The veteran quarterback finished the contest with 17 completions on 25 pass attempts, tallying 157 yards passing. He was held out of the endzone in the passing attack, while also hurting the Patriots offense with two interceptions along the way.
