NFL Power Rankings, Week 7: Steelers, Buccaneers make emphatic leap
By Randy Gurzi
There was a time when Joe Flacco was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback and Frank Gore was one of the best running backs in the game. In fact, they even played against one another back when Flacco won the Super Bowl as he was on Jon Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens and Gore was the star running back for Jim Harbaugh’s San Francisco 49ers following the 2012 season.

Now, eight years later, they’re both on the New York Jets and each has taken over as the starter as Sam Darnold is out injured and Le’Veon Bell is out of the Big Apple after finding a way out of Adam Gase’s control.
While both Flacco and Gore have had success in the past but they’re also past their prime now and leaning on them is a huge reason they fell to 0-6 on Sunday and failed to score a single point against the Miami Dolphins. New York ended up losing 24-0 and they’re now the final winless team in the league after seeing their roommates, the New York Giants, and the Atlanta Falcons score their first win of the season.
Should they stay at the bottom of the standings until the end of the season, the real question will be what they do with the No. 1 pick. Is Sam Darnold the guy or do they pull the trigger on Trevor Lawrence? It could be an interesting question that we might have to ask.
