4. Wilson continues MVP hunt

Wilson leads the NFL with 19 passing touchdowns and a 129.8 passer rating. He’s also completing 72.8% of his pass attempts and averaging 300.4 passing yards per game. Wilson heard his name tossed around in MVP conversations over the past three years, but he never received an official vote. For a while, it looked like the former Super Bowl champion might go through his career without an MVP or All-Pro selection.

However, questionable supporting casts and poor defenses can only keep greatness down for so long. After carrying Seattle to winning seasons since the dissolution of the Legion of Boom, Wilson finally has a borderline elite cast of weapons around him. Surprise, surprise, when Wilson has ideal weapons, he turns into a touchdown monster.

The Seahawks have plenty of issues on defense, but Wilson is helping the offense reach fantastic heights. The former third-round pick is helping Seattle outgun all of its opponents. His success should continue against the Cardinals. Arizona has a middle of the road defense. With Chandler Jones landing on injured reserve, the Cardinals don’t even have a dominant pass rusher.

3. Seattle sacks Murray four times

Arizona’s offensive line is one of the NFL’s worst. Last season, Murray tied for the league lead with 48 sacks taken. However, things are looking up. The second-year quarterback is keeping his footing this year. He’s taken nine sacks through Arizona’s first six games. Meanwhile, the Seahawks only have nine sacks. This doesn’t seem like a good combination for Seattle.

The Seahawks have to get some pressure eventually. Something has to click for that inexperienced defensive line. Otherwise, Seattle can continue cycling through veteran edge rushers and prospects every year. The Cardinals still have weaknesses along their offensive line. It comes down to whether or not Seattle can take advantage of those holes.

Jamal Adams’ return could give Seattle’s pass rush a much-needed boost, but he remains up in the air for next week’s matchup.
