Chicago Bears bold predictions for a Monday Night Football matchup with the Rams in Week 7.

Who but the most ardent fans thought that after six games the Chicago Bears would be 5-1 and atop the NFC North? Well, we know that no one in the national media thought that and most in the local media didn’t think that would happen either. Here we are, though, with the Bears playing a game with playoff implications when many predicted a bottom-tier finish.

In addition to leading the NFC North, the Bears are also currently the No. 2 seed in the NFC, behind only the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams are the No. 7 and final seed. To give you an idea of how close things are bunched up, the Bears are a game away from the top seed and a game ahead of the final spot. A loss on Monday Night Football in Week 7 and the Bears could be out of the playoff picture and in need of working hard to get back in.

This game looks to be another defensive battle between the two teams. They’ve played against each other in the last two seasons, and have split the games, with each team winning at home. This game is in Los Angeles, which is likely why the Rams are a seven-point favorite.

However, the game is on Monday Night Football and the Bears play well on Monday nights. They have a record of 12-4 under the lights on Mondays so let’s see if they continue their success on Mondays.

Nick Foles continues his brutal schedule of top-rated defenses to start his career with the Bears. In his first three starts with the Bears, he faced the number one (Indianapolis Colts), the number six (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), and the number seven (Carolina Panthers) ranked pass defenses. This week, he faces the fourth-ranked pass defense in the Rams. Perhaps that is one of the reasons he’s had an up and down start with the Bears.

Many people consider the Rams a playoff contender but keep this in mind — all four of their wins came against the NFC Least — I mean, East. The four teams in the division have a combined total of five wins or just as many as the Bears have.

Here are five bold predictions for the Chicago Bears in their Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
