One of the players that Minnesota will have to decide if it wants to pay a large contract to moving forward is safety Anthony Harris. Going into 2020, the Vikings put their franchise tag on Harris after the two sides couldn’t agree to a contract extension before the year began.

Minnesota will likely have to officially decide what it will do with Harris moving forward at some point this year, specifically if it wants to make him one of the top paid safeties in the league or if it wants to move on from Harris.

And that decision might have to come before the Nov. 3 trade deadline, which might result in the team moving on from the stud safety.

With the likelihood of Harris hitting free agency this offseason if he remains in Minnesota for the rest of the year, the Vikings should try and get anything they can for Harris that could benefit the team in the future rather than just letting him walk during free agency.

A move of Harris makes too much sense and his services would be attractive for multiple contending teams in the NFL for the rest of the regular season. With many teams in the league on the search for a safety to help shore up the back end of the defense, Harris could be a top target to be moved in the next few weeks.
