Chicago Bears: 5 X-factors for getting a win in Week 7 vs. Rams
These five Chicago Bears X-factors need to step up against the Rams in primetime.
The Chicago Bears keep surprising both the local and national media by continuing to win ugly. They are 5-1 yet their offense doesn’t look like a juggernaut. Experts keep picking against them but they just keep on winning.
That continues this week as the Bears go to the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams. They are six-point underdogs, with many analysts saying the Rams defense will make mincemeat out of the Bears offense. I guess this is why they play the games. If they just went with the analysts’ predictions, Chicago would just win three games all season. They’ve already blown past that number.
The Rams enter the game with a record of 4-2. They bring in a tough defense, ranking fifth in points allowed and fourth in total yards given up. Their offense, while still better than the Bears’, only ranks 19th in points scored. They rank 10th in yards, so they may just play into the Bears’ “bend but don’t break” defensive mentality.
Yes, the Bears’ offense has its deficiencies, but with Nick Foles at quarterback, the unit does just enough to win games. They have to get better, but they have small increments of improvement recently. They’re ready for a breakout. Could this week be the week?
In order for the Bears to come up with a win this week, there are certain players who need to step up. They must have a good game and lead their teammates to victory. They could be players who might not be noticed unless they do something wrong, but because of circumstances, they’ll be in a position to come up big.
Here are five of those X-factor players against the Rams for the Chicago Bears.
