2. Raiders defense holds the Browns under 300 total yards

To get bowled over for 45 points is not something that the Raiders nor defensive coordinator Paul Guenther have to be feeling pleased about. On the flip side, Guenther has coached in the AFC North before against the Browns while a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Granted, there have been a number of moves since he departed. However, philosophies tend to remain the same. Cleveland is known to rely on their running game which gives Guenther the insight to force the Browns to rely on Baker Mayfield and the pass, a tactic that has worked against Kevin Stefanski when it’s not against the Bengals.

Furthermore, The Browns lost Odell Beckham Jr. to a torn ACL. Though he wasn’t an impact against Cincinnati, his presence on the field made defenses pay more attention to him, leaving others to run free.

Now that Beckham has been removed from the equation due to unfortunate circumstances, Guenther’s defense will be able to key in on all receivers instead of shifting attention to one primary individual.

The Raiders will look to make a statement after a disappointing performance against the Bucs and a solid victory over a 5-2 team will allow them to gain back the confidence that they had when they ended the Chiefs’ winning streak.
