2. This is the week New England passing game gets back on track

Through seven games and eight weeks so far this season, the Patriots offense has struggled mightily under first-year quarterback Cam Newton.

New England has done a decent job in the run game, which has basically been the only positive thing about its offensive group, but the Patriots have been terrible in the passing game with Newton under center.

New England has been awful in the passing attack to this point in the regular season, with the Patriots having thrown for just 1,435 yards (second-least mark in the NFL) along with a league-worst three touchdown through the air. New England has also thrown 11 interceptions, which is tied with the Denver Broncos for the second-most in the NFL.

Even though it has struggled via the passing attack, New England will get back on track in Week 9 against New York, a team that has allowed opposing offenses to air things out early and often so far in 2020. The Jets have given up 2,262 yards (third-most in the NFL) and 16 touchdowns (fifth-most in the league) this year.

If the Patriots were going to have a game where they can work on trying to shore things up in the passing game, this will be the game against a Jets team that hasn’t been able to stop anyone to this point in the year.
