Josh Allen, QB

Josh Allen was outstanding against Seattle. The third-year passer was at his mercurial best as he ripped Seattle apart. The stat line was incredible for Allen: 31 completions for 415 yards with three touchdowns and a passer rating north of 135. This had to be Allen’s best performance of his NFL career.

More from NFL Spin Zone

With a diverse and talented pass-catching group, the Bills offense came alive today and at the heart of it was Allen. He displayed all the arm strength as he threw strike after strike. But he also demonstrated good touch on his throws; there was one instance where he floated it into his receiver’s hands. This ability to make different types of throws is a key step in Allen’s development.

He looks much more settled in the pocket and could get off his primary read and go through his progressions. Allen will always be inconsistent and there will be ugly throws. But, if he keeps these positive traits he demonstrated today, he will get better and better. Allen was special and it was the strong message he needed to send to the NFL: Josh Allen is here to be great.

Tremaine Edmunds, LB

Tremaine Edmunds was a wrecking ball against Seattle. The linebacker was dominant and was fundamental to the Bills’ strong defensive outing. He did everything you want from a franchise linebacker. Edmunds tackled extremely well, was solid in coverage and pressured the quarterback. He notched a pass deflection as well as a sack on his own stat sheet but it was more than just that.

Edmunds is athletic as they come; he displayed superb ability to track and tackle runners and tackle receivers when they caught the ball. When Edmunds is at his best, he is a versatile tool for McDermott to use and it allows the rest of the defense to play around him. When he plays this well, the Bills defense plays well.
