48. Best NFL Player Born in West Virginia – Randy Moss

Despite his antics, wide receiver Randy Moss was truly a human highlight reel. Born in West Virginia, Moss had a prolific career in the NFL that saw him reach many accolades despite not winning a championship for all his efforts.

To this date, some NFL records that stand out are that he still holds the single-season NFL record for most touchdowns ever at 23 and most by a rookie at 17. Moss made a career out of incredible one-handed receptions and usually went the distance or secured a touchdown when his team needed it.

Moss will forever go down in the history books as one of the best to ever play his position. Even to this day, any young wide receiver just getting drafted into the NFL will spend time watching highlights of what it meant to “getting mossed” on a daily basis.

Career Accomplishments

  • Owns the NFL single-season touchdown reception record at 23 back in 2007
  • No. 2 on all-time regular-season touchdown receptions list at 156
  • NFL record for the youngest receiver with 100th touchdown reception at just 29 years old
