DraftKings NFL Week 10 values: Tight Ends

With Jason Kelce on bye, it’s an especially lean week for an already depleted position, especially with the hot-and-cold Mark Andrews drawing the second-worst tight end up imaginable. Our recommended DraftKings strategy, therefore, is to either pay up for a guy like Darren Waller (LV vs. DEN, $5,900) or dig deep into the bargain bin for an edge.

In cash formats, we’d go with Waller, if the budget allows. Those who don’t want to dirty their hands in the dregs of the positions could opt for Noah Fant (DEN at LV, $4,900), who should see significant volume, or maybe Rob Gronkowski (TB at CAR, $4,700), who draws a Carolina Panthers defense that ranks 29th in the league in fantasy points per game allowed to the tight end position over the last four weeks.

Among all other tight ends priced $4,000 or higher, we can only endorse Dallas Goedert (PHI at NYG, $4,200), Mike Gesicki (MIA vs. LAC, $4,300), and Hunter Henry (LAC at MIA, $4,100). Of the trio, we think Goedert, who should be fully healthy after his bye week, has the best chance for a smash week in a favorable matchup against the New York Giants, without Zach Ertz around to siphon away targets.

In GPP tournaments, Logan Thomas (WAS at DET, $3,300) has seen four or more targets in every game he’s played this season, and Austin Hooper (CLE vs. HOU, $3,900) could offer sneaky value in his first game back from injury. Hooper logged three straight games with five or more catches before going on the shelf with an emergency appendectomy; with Odell Beckham Jr. out for the season, Hooper should settle in as one of Baker Mayfield’s primary targets while Jarvis Landry keeps gutting out a nagging hip injury.

Best BuyEric Ebron (PIT vs. CIN, $4,400), who has eclipsed 10 fantasy points per game in each of the last three weeks, gets to face a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has allowed an astonishing 24.63 fantasy points per game over the last four weeks, worst in the league by far. Only the Houston Texans come within seven points of that bloated figure.

Bargain Bin: Harrison Bryant (CLE vs. HOU, $3,000) is arguably as good of a value as Hooper, given that the rookie has caught seven of his last eight targets over the last two games, two for touchdowns. If the remaining budget requires a deeper dig, Ian Thomas (CAR vs. TB, $2,600) and Cameron Brate (TB at CAR, $2,500) are attractive afterthoughts against the 27th and 29th ranked defenses against fantasy tight ends over the last four weeks, respectively.
