3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had two volatile paths to follow this offseason, ultimately choosing a free-agent quarterback over Jameis Winston. Of course, the free agent they landed was six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. Since Brady joined Tampa Bay their offense has been notably better, especially in comparison to what they were under Winston.

One other big help to the Buccaneers this year has been their defense. Cornerbacks Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean are two young players who have been improving every year and have started to really come into their own in the 2020 season.

While the Buccaneers were facing their own decision on their future, the same was happening with the Panthers. They jettisoned Cam Newton and opted to sign Teddy Bridgewater. Elsewhere, they let Ron Rivera loose and brought in two college minds with Matt Rhule at head coach and Joe Brady at offensive coordinator.

The new moves have not impacted the win column quite yet but Carolina has made great strides in the right direction. The Panthers rookies have already made great moves as two of them, Derrick Brown and Jeremy Chinn, have made PFF’s All-Rookie team midway through the season.

While the Buccaneers are clearly the better team right now, the Panthers will certainly make this game a competitive game and this Carolina team could be looking to battle for the NFC South title in a couple of years.
