4. Baltimore Ravens vs. New England Patriots

Last year, the Baltimore Ravens offense was near unstoppable. On every Ravens offensive play, defenses had to keep eyes on Lamar Jackson because, at any second, he could take off and be gone to the wind. Furthermore, a bevy of young targets were available at any moment for Jackson to hit and then make their own noise.

Unfortunately for the Ravens, their offense has come back down to earth. Jackson is still able to create with his legs like nobody else in the NFL can. But where the offense has struggled the most has been through the air. Even still, with Jackson taking the snaps, Baltimore is always ready to explode when they have possession.

If there is any person who is going to stop a team from being explosive, it’s Bill Belichick.  Throughout his entire NFL tenure, especially with the Patriots, Belichick has been a defensive mastermind and has been able to take away other teams number one option through a multitude of different ways. The problem that Belichick faces this season is that he doesn’t have the horses to execute his gameplans.

New England got hit hard before the season started as they lost Patrick Chung, Dont’a Hightower and a couple of offensive players to COVID opt-outs. The totality of everything with the Patriots has led to a hapless offense and a defense that’s playing well below a top-tier unit.

While the Ravens clearly have the better roster on paper than the Patriots, Belichick could be ready to give them a run for their money. In primetime, this should be a fun one.
