2. San Francisco 49ers vs New Orleans Saints

The Saints currently are on top of the NFC South. But even though they entered the year as a Super Bowl favorite, they have not played like it so far. Early in the season, things were not looking so good for Drew Brees. Brees struggled against Tampa Bay, Las Vegas and Green Bay. It finally looked like age caught up to Brees — he’s turned it around slightly since.

Since those poor performances that Brees turned in, he’s managed to turn things around with some quality showings against Detroit, Carolina and, most recently, Tampa Bay. What will determine how far New Orleans goes this season will be how well Brees plays.

The San Francisco 49ers were in a similar spot as the New Orleans Saints as many people picked them to win the NFC West. Even more so than their Week 10 counterparts, though, they have struggled quite a bit. San Francisco currently sits at 4-5 and at the bottom of the highly competitive division.

While the team has been ailing, it’s not all their fault. The 49ers have gotten hit hard with injuries as they have lost two players for the entire season and have lost many other players for multiple weeks. More recently, a COVID-19 outbreak has wreaked more havoc on the roster. Kyle Shanahan and his offensive mind have kept the team competitive, however.

The Saints currently sit at 6-2 with a one-game lead on the Buccaneers. But if they lose this game in Week 10 and the Bucs beat the Panthers, New Orleans will fall back into a tie with their rivals in the division.
