2020 NFL Power Rankings, Week 11: Patriots stun Ravens, Cardinals win on Hail Murray

The Dallas Cowboys needed a bye week more than anyone. This team is 2-7 and while there are a ton of jokes to be made about the NFC East, they have just been incredibly unlucky. They have dealt with several injuries and it keeps piling up at the same positions.

For example, they lost two tackles for the season in Tyron Smith and La’el Collins. This was in addition to Cameron Erving missing time, which meant they were without their swing tackle as well. On top of that, Joe Looney and Zack Martin have dealt with injuries making their entire line makeshift for much of the season.
There’s also been a lot going on under center as Dak Prescott suffered a broken ankle followed by a concussion and a placement on the COVID Reserve List. That led to them starting rookie Ben DiNucci in Week 8 and Garrett Gilbert in Week 9.
They did, however, start to play better on defense over those past two games — including a shocking game where they nearly beat the Steelers. However, they suffered more bad news as Trevon Diggs suffered a broken foot in the game, which comes on the heels of his best stretch as a pro. The good news is, they might be getting Chidobe Awuzie back but the revolving door of injured players has been too much for them to overcome. The good news is, they should finally have enough evidence that Prescott should be paid — and they’ll be in line for some great draft picks to help put more talent around him.
