NFL Hot Seat candidate No. 2: Vic Fangio, Denver Broncos

Vic Fangio and the Denver Broncos have had some of the worst injury luck in the NFL this season and their record reflects that. They lost All-Pro Von Miller in the offseason and then Pro Bowlers Courtland Sutton, Jurrell Casey and others during the season. The impact has been felt on both the offense and defense.

Add to that the struggles of young quarterback Drew Lock in his second NFL season and it appears the Broncos are headed to a 5-to-6 win season at the most after winning just three of their first nine games. T

his brings Fangio’s record to an uninspiring 10-15 since he became the head coach in 2019 and could see him back in the booth for another team next year. Management may take pity on Fangio because of the injuries and the fact that he has still cobbled together a competent defense despite the injuries but this is a cutthroat business.

Their next three opponents are the Dolphins, Saints and Chiefs, so a 3-9 record is very much on the cards before facing Carolina in Week 14.
