WR. LSU. 5. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Ja'Marr Chase. player. 54

It finally happened. The Philadelphia Eagles benched Carson Wentz and inserted Jalen Hurts. It was a tough call for them considering Wentz is guaranteed over $100 million but it’s hard to say it was the wrong move. Wentz has been struggling mightily, so they needed to see whether the issue is really him or the players around him.

Many of Wentz defenders have pointed to the Eagles’ struggles in drafting but Hurts coming in should help them evaluate their team. One player they really need to see with a new quarterback is Jalen Reagor, their first-round pick from 2020. The hope will be that Reagor can show he’s a No. 1 wideout. In this mock, it’s assumed he will prove he’s capable but not a No. 1. For that reason, the Eagles take advantage of their position in this mock and take Ja’Marr Chase from LSU.

It won’t make up for them foolishly passing on Justin Jefferson, but it will at least open up their passing game.

CB. 13. Scouting Report. 6. player. Pick Analysis. Alabama. Patrick Surtain II

Up next is the Los Angeles Chargers, who use this pick to land Patrick Surtain. The Alabama cornerback allows them to get younger at the position since they have talent there, but their starters are getting a bit long in the tooth.

The son of a former Pro Bowl defensive back, Surtain has some big shoes but has never seemed as though he would shy away from any challenge.
