20. team. 31. . . Previous: 18th. New York Giants

Coming into this game, the New York Giants had four-straight wins and the Arizona Cardinals were on a three-game losing streak. New York had parlayed their recent success into a tie for first place with the Washington Football Team. At 5-8. That says more about the NFC East than either team, but that’s a topic for a different day.

As for the Giants play this weekend, this was much more reminiscent of the team we saw start out 0-5 than the one that had been winning as of late. New York couldn’t get anything going on offense and that had to do with their offensive line more than anything.

The much-maligned unit gave up six sacks on Daniel Jones and then when he went to the sidelines for Colt McCoy, they gave up two more sacks. The lost yardage on those sacks put them under 100 yards passing and they also failed to hit 80 yards on the ground. In all, they were credited with just 159 total yards compared to 390 for the Cardinals.

That was a recipe for disaster and the Giants were never in this one. They ended up losing 26-7 but oddly enough, they still alive in their awful division, even with the win by Washington this week that puts the Giants one game out of first.
