19. team. 57. . . Previous: 23rd. Chicago Bears

Where has this Mitch Trubsiky been? The most frustrating thing for the Chicago Bears when it comes to their quarterback struggles in recent seasons has to be the way Trubisky is able to show out at times. It would probably have been easier to move on if he were just always awful, but that hasn’t been the case — and this Sunday was proof.

Playing against a struggling Houston Texans defense, Trubisky was lights out. He completed 24-of-33 passes for 267 yards with three touchdowns and no picks. We also saw the best version of Allen Robinson as he was good for 123 yards and a score on nine receptions. Then there was David Montgomery, going for 113 yards on the ground and 42 through the air — including an 80-yard touchdown.

With their offense clicking like this, we saw what the Bears can be. Their defense made life hard on Houston, sacking their quarterbacks seven times and holding them to just seven points in a lopsided 36-7 victory. Now at 6-7, the Bears are still alive in the NFC playoff race. It won’t be easy and they will need a lot of help, but they did what they needed to do this week. Sadly, there’s almost no faith that they can build on this since no one expects Trubiksy to continue to play as he did in Week 14.
