team. 51. . . Previous: 8th. Los Angeles Rams. 13

What the heck happened to Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams in Week 15? Prior to facing the Jets on Sunday, the Rams legitimately looked like one of the best teams in the NFC with the playoffs approaching. Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey and the defense were playing awesome football and Jared Goff had recaptured some of the magic he and the offense possessed that helped lead them to a Super Bowl appearance. The needle was pointing decidedly up for the Rams.

Then Sunday happened and it’s impossible to say what exactly caused their struggles against the worst team in the league prior to the matchup but they were undeniably there. Goff made a litany of mistakes, Cam Akers and the rushing attack were wholly ineffective and the Rams defense couldn’t consistently come up with stops. It was the type of game that raises serious concerns about LA.

Fans in Los Angeles looking for optimism could certainly write this loss off as simply overlooking their opponent, a Jets team that has played a bit better as of late. Having said that, the defeat drops the Rams out of the NFC West lead and could potentially make their road through the playoffs harder, which is disconcerting given how they played against Gang Green.
