2021 NFL Draft: Where each Heisman finalist could land
Who will pick Kyle Trask in the 2021 NFL Draft?
The third of three quarterbacks in the running for the Heisman Trophy is Kyle Trask, who is having a monster season at Florida. Trask has thrown for 4,125 yards, 43 touchdowns, and five interceptions in his stellar season for the Gators and now he should hear his name called in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Trask isn’t going to go in the top 10 unless a huge run on quarterbacks takes place, but he might go in the top 20. Trask probably isn’t someone that a team immediately hands the reins to in 2021, but he’d definitely be their future option. Whoever drafts him could handle him the same way the Chiefs handled Patrick Mahomes, where he spends the majority of his rookie season on the sidelines.
San Francisco would be a good landing spot for Trask and there’d be no immediate pressure for the Gators signal-caller to jump into action. The Niners could end up sticking with Jimmy Garoppolo for the rest of his contract and if so, Trask could sit behind him and learn until his contract ends after the 2022 season.
While the 49ers would be a good destination for Trask, it’s more likely that he ends up somewhere like New England or Chicago, both of whom need a quarterback in 2021. At least with the Bears, Trask could sit behind Nick Foles for a bit. If the Patriots took him, he’s probably getting thrust into the action before he’s ready.
These four Heisman hopefuls have promising NFL careers. Hopefully, they’re able to land with the right teams and prove themselves from day one.
