2020 NFL picks, score predictions for Week 17

New York Jets (2-13) at New England Patriots (6-9)

I know it seems ridiculous, but I’m actually picking the New York Jets to win. I believe it’s the first time all year I’ve done so. If it weren’t 2020, it would seem asinine that I’m doing so when they’re playing an away game against the New England Patriots. Yet that’s the world we live in right now.

Did you know that there has only been one team in NFL history to start 0-13 and then win their final three games? That’s the 1982 Indianapolis Colts. Well, the Jets are about to make that list twice as long when they defeat the Patriots in Week 17 and notch their third straight win.

And all it cost them was the right to draft a potential generational talent at quarterback. I’m sure Gang Green fans are loving life right now. It’s almost as if this franchise loves shooting itself in the foot. But hey, at least they get a win against the Patriots in the process — something they’ve only enjoyed twice since the 2011 season.

The Patriots are demoralized after their 2020 season fell apart, Cam Newton is tired of being benched and the New England defense is a mess. New York isn’t much better, but they ride the high of a two-game winning streak to yet another win. Maybe it’ll even be enough to save Adam Gase’s job!

Prediction: Jets win 25-19
