2. New England leans on the run one final time

One thing that has been a constant all season long for the Patriots has been their success on the ground and in the running attack.

Part of the reason that New England has had to rely on the ground game out of the backfield this season has been the lack of a passing attack led by quarterback Cam Newton in his first season under center for the Patriots.

New England has multiple weapons that defenses have to focus on in the running attack, which makes it a dangerous team when it utilizes that area of the offense. Now if the Patriots could only get a respectable passing game, that would only help the run game flourish.

In the Week 17 game against the Jets, the Patriots running game will lead the way for the team offensively and New England will lean on the rush attack one final time in 2020.

Coming into the contest, New England is averaging 145.4 yards per game on the ground this season. New York, on the other hand, is giving up 104.8 yards per game on the ground so far in 2020.

The Patriots have consisted of having the eighth-best run game entering the regular-season finale, while the Jets hold the 25th-ranked overall defense coming into Week 17.
