2021 NFL Mock Draft: Justin Fields leaps to Jaguars at No. 1, Dolphins nab Ja’Marr Chase
By Randy Gurzi
(Pick via Houston Texans): The Miami Dolphins are up next but not due to their own record. This is the second day one pick they got from the Houston Texans for their Laremy Tunsil trade and while it’s tempting to add another top-tier tackle, the Dolphins decide to go for the splash pick as they take Ja’Marr Chase from LSU.
The stud wide receiver opted out of the 2020 season which means we only got to see one full year with him as a starter but it was quite the year. In 2019 as a sophomore, Chase had 1,780 yards on 84 receptions with 20 touchdowns — while averaging an astounding 21.2 yards per catch. Adding him is exactly what this team needs to help Tua Tagovailoa take his next step.
There are about to be some big changes coming for the Atlanta Falcons as they have fired both their coach and general manager. For that reason, it seems as though they could pull the plug on Matt Ryan who will be 36 when the 2021 season kicks off. While he still can sling it, the new staff might want to rebuild around a young signal-caller, which is why we have Zach Wilson out of BYU landing with them here.
Wilson is the third quarterback off the board in this mock but he also feels like a player who can’t miss. Wilson burst onto the scene this season and put his name in the mix for a top-5 pick and that’s exactly where he lands.
