Super Bowl 55: Early pick, score prediction for Buccaneers vs. Chiefs
What to expect from the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55
Well for starters, we’ll see plenty of Mahomes. The Chiefs haven’t been shy about nearly abandoning the run game during the playoffs, relying on the reigning Super Bowl MVP to lead them to postseason victory. Expect more of the same during the Big Game, especially against Tampa Bay’s top-ranked run defense.

- Dallas Cowboys made the trade everyone else should have made
- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie sleeper everyone should be talking about
- Anthony Richardson putting jaw-dropping talent on display immediately
- Denver Broncos’ stud wide receiver might be out for a while
- Washington Commanders: Three takeaways from win over Ravens
That shouldn’t be a problem, though. Mahomes didn’t seem thrown off after suffering a concussion in the Divisional Round, picking the Buffalo Bills secondary apart this past Sunday. With many of his top targets healthy, we should see him tossing the pigskin around with plenty of success.
That leaves it up to the Kansas City defense to keep Brady from doing the same. They’ll be tasked with putting pressure on the aging quarterback and forcing him into the types of mistakes that nearly cost him another trip to the Super Bowl against the Green Bay Packers. Trust me when I say that three interceptions would nearly guarantee a loss against the Chiefs.
Andy Reid will have an aggressive game plan in place, relying on Eric Bieniemy and Mahomes to put plenty of points on the board while Kansas City defense does its thing. As long as the offensive line protects Mahomes well and the Chiefs don’t crumble on defense, the odds seem to be in their favor.
