Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: AJ Dillon, RB (Rd. 2, Pick 62)

Grade: B- | Playing behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams on the depth chart, AJ Dillon wasn’t expected to have a big role in the Green Bay Packers offense. However, the former Boston College standout came into the fold in sporadic appearances and truly made it clear why Green Bay was looking at him as a potential successor to Jones and Williams in the backfield.

Overall, Dillon only had 46 carries for 242 yards and two touchdowns, though 11 of those carries went for first downs. However, his lone start in Week 16 was eye-popping with 21 carries for 124 yards and two touchdowns. You’d like to see a bigger role from a second-round pick but the upside for Dillon is clear.

Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: Josiah Deguara, TE (Rd. 3, Pick 94)

Grade: Incomplete | There was a breakout tight end on the Packers roster this past season but it wasn’t rookie Josiah Deguara (it was Robert Tonyan, for those keeping score at home). The Cincinnati product had a limited role before in the offense before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in early October.

Because of his limited availability and role, it’s hard to properly assess Deguara’s rookie season as it was almost non-existent. Having said that, the tight end did show some early signs of being a valuable cog in Matt LaFleur’s offense.

Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: Kamal Martin, LB (Rd. 5, Pick 175)

Grade: B+ | Many people lamented the Packers not taking a linebacker earlier in the 2020 draft but they did find two seemingly viable options with Kamal Martin and undrafted rookie Krys Barnes. In the case of Martin, he did a lot of things well.

Martin was one of the biggest standouts from Green Bay training camp but injuries, unfortunately, limited his time on the field and steepened the learning curve. Still, with how he performed in the offseason and some flashes in the season, Martin has the makings of a real steal out of the fifth round.
