Orlando Brown Jr. trade landing spot No. 6: Chicago Bears

It’s going to be a precarious offseason for the Chicago Bears to navigate as they head into 2021. They must upgrade at quarterback or at least hit reset at the position. To do so, that may necessitate trading away some high-end draft picks.

Subsequently, that could leave them in a spot where they don’t have the draft ammo to pull off a trade for Orlando Brown Jr. But if they can find an avenue in which they can land a quarterback and still have the goods to trade for Brown, it’s something that should entice them.

For all of the issues that the Bears offense has, the offensive line gets overlooked because of the quarterback play. Charles Leno and Bobby Massie have been mediocre at best and, if they want to protect their new quarterback, adding Brown would help tremendously.

Orlando Brown Jr. trade landing spot No. 5: Jacksonville Jaguars

Barring something truly unforeseen, the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to select Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That solidifies the quarterback position for the long haul. But Jacksonville won’t be immediately competing with just Lawrence.

This is a roster that is primed for a big rebuild and that needs to start with protecting Lawrence. Starting left tackle Cam Robinson is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, which opens the door for the Jaguars to look to upgrade.

Flush with draft capital and cap space, the Jaguars could make a big move for Brown to solidify the offensive line in front of Lawrence and breakout rookie from 2020 James Robinson.
