Buffalo Bills perfect 2021 NFL Draft fit No. 2: Olaijah Griffin, CB, USC

Continuing with the theme of a defensive heavy draft, the Bills should add a young corner to their secondary. The Bills have a stud in coverage extraordinaire, Tre’Davious White manning one side of the field. In nine of his 14 starts, he allowed less than 40 yards in coverage. White is amazing in terms of taking away the football. There’s arguably no better player in the clutch in terms of creating a turnover when it’s needed most.

Levi Wallace is solid, he stepped up in their three playoff games, giving up just four completions and 23 yards. However, he’s a restricted free agent who’ll likely command some money. On the flip side, he gets exposed when going up against bigger receivers and smaller guys with speed.

Josh Norman wasn’t awful but he’s not good enough for the salary he’s getting. Dane Jackson showed flashes who fits best as a slot corner but earned the right to compete for CB2. The Bills should look to upgrade the position. They should get a guy who provides matchup flexibility.

Olaijah Griffin is the perfect type of developmental prospect who fits what the Bills like. The Trojan corner is 6-0 with long arms, he’s an ideal press corner with loose hips. He runs well with quick feet who displays good zone awareness. Griffin could man up outside in situations while developing into a full-time starter.
