2. LB L.J. Fort (Baltimore Ravens)

The team was ravaged by injuries at linebacker a season ago. As previously mentioned, pass-rushing standout Bud Dupree was shelved in December but is now a member of the Tennessee Titans. And 2019 first-round pick Devin Bush was knocked out for the rest of 2020 after only five games.

Robert Spillane filled in for Bush but was also eventually bitten by the injury bug as well. It’s just a small sample of the issues this group had. There was a midseason trade for Avery Williamson but he’s yet to be re-signed. And veteran Vince Williams was released by the club in mid-March. Could L.J. Fort, a member of this club from 2015-18, make a reappearance in the Steel City?

1. TE Darren Fells (Released by Houston Texans)

Eric Ebron is back for his second season with the club but veteran Vance McDonald announced his retirement earlier this year after four campaigns with the 49ers and Steelers. As for the former, he struggled at times with drops but in 15 regular-season games with Mike Tomlin’s team he finished fourth on the squad with 56 receptions, good for 558 yards and five scores.

Bringing in Darren Fells, cut loose by the Texans this offseason, would bolster this position in more ways than one. Always heralded for his blocking, he became one of Deshaun Watson’s top targets during his two years in Houston, totaling a combined 55 catches for 653 yards and 11 touchdowns.
