NFL: Creating the all-time roster with football’s legends: QB, Tom Brady

Career stats:

  • 79,204 passing yards
  • 581 passing touchdowns
  • 64 percent completion percentage

Accolades:

  • 14 time Pro Bowler
  • 3 time First Team All-Pro
  • 7 time Super Bowl Champ

When it comes to choosing players to make it on the all-time roster, each position involves a difficult choice. Simply put, a ridiculous amount of great players have stepped foot on the turf. But while positions such as wide receiver, running back and cornerback involved an intense amount of thinking, the quarterback position was easy as can be.

Tom Brady has been undoubtedly the greatest signal-caller of all times. During his two decades in the league, he’s worn roughly every cap.

From towel-waving bench player to game manager, to the MVP of the league, Brady has done it all. There isn’t a legitimate argument that can be made for why Brady shouldn’t captain the all-time team. Repeating his otherworldly numbers isn’t necessary. Sure Brady ranks first in passing touchdowns all-time, second in passing yards and fourth in interception percentage but all of those numbers are meaningless to him. Brady’s record-setting seven Super Bowls, on the other hand, is what he takes the most pride in.

In a league today, where quarterbacks are more so needed to be a dual-threat, Brady’s statue-like demeanor in the pocket, defies that logic.

The numbers are outstanding but with 230 regular season wins and ten Super Bowl appearances to go along with his previously mentioned seven rings, Brady is simply concerned with winning and no one, does it better.
