Tom Brady minced no words on a certain NFL team opting to go with their own quarterback instead of him, but who was that team and who was the player?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will look for any sort of motivation to prove he is the best. That’s a trait of many all-time great athletes, in the NFL or otherwise. Whether it be proving his critics wrong and embarrassing them or even responding to opposing teams’ trash talk with stellar play on the field, motivation is part of this man’s DNA.

However, most football fans haven’t really seen him engage in trash talk for much of his career. But his appearance and words on LeBron James’ HBO show The Shop will have his supporters laughing and others watching with raised eyebrows and slight chuckles.

On an upcoming episode, Brady talked about his free agency period before signing with Tampa Bay and winning a seventh Super Bowl, specifically regarding a team choosing to stick with their current quarterback instead of signing the future Hall-of-Famer.

That’s a mouthful and it had not only those in attendance, notably Draymond Green, laughing but it does raise a small laugh from the NFL community. Mainly because the million-dollar question is, which quarterback is Brady referring to and what team? Because whoever it is is likely going to be asked to explain their logic, although Brady did not reveal specifically what team it was (at least in the preview).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were willing to change quarterbacks and get Tom Brady, and they get the biggest laugh.

Of the teams that we know were interested in Brady, such as the Bears, Chargers, 49ers and so on, only a few can take exception. For one, the Chargers showed major interest and ultimately ended up with Justin Herbert as their franchise quarterback. So in retrospect, it probably was not them.

As for the Bears, they had Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles; maybe they were the ones? Trubisky is now out of Chicago and, instead, the Bears are rolling with Andy Dalton or Justin Fields.

Meanwhile, San Francisco just mortgaged the future for Trey Lance, meaning that they likely are not satisfied with Jimmy Garoppolo. So is it them that the now seven-time champion is talking about? It should be noted that Brady grew up a 49ers fan and wanted to play for them right out of college, but they chose Giovanni Carmazzi instead back in 2000.

Next. One NFL legend each team wishes they had for 2021. dark

Ultimately, Tampa Bay is the one who got the quarterback and made the right decision and, thus, they had a stellar boat parade. But we all want to know who Brady was talking about. Unfortunately, that will be a mystery that we may never get an answer for.
