3. Wales – NFL Franchise Comparison: Cincinnati Bengals

Next game: vs. Denmark, Saturday, June 26

Wales are not a traditional powerhouse in European football. A nation of only 3 million people and overshadowed by their far larger neighbor, England, Wales are an underdog to win the whole thing. Nicknamed the Dragons, the team plays against Denmark in the next round on Saturday 26th June.

Casual fans of soccer will know Gareth Bale, the star winger who plays for Real Madrid and has won pretty much every possible medal in his club career. He is the team captain and their focal point.

Without him performing well, Wales have no chance of progressing. The team has won, drawn and lost 1 game so far at the tournament, providing mixed opinion on what might come next.

With their star players at the hub of everything and fan hopes of doing better than previous years, the Cincinnati Bengals are a perfect match with Wales. The team have been at the bottom of their competition for much of their existence, but their current players — namely quarterback Joe Burrow — provide hope that they can succeed where they haven’t before.
