1. Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals clearly recognized that their defensive stars like Chandler Jones (assuming he’s going to stick around), Isaiah Simmons and Budda Baker needed some help this offseason. As such, the front office made it a point of emphasis to add help this offseason, signing J.J. Watt in free agency while using a first-round pick on Zaven Collins, securing Markus Golden and using a number of late-round dart throws on defensive players as well.

However, the cornerback room in the desert is a bit concerning after the departure of Patrick Peterson. Malcolm Butler is fine but on the downside of his career, the same of which can be said of Robert Alford. Meanwhile, Byron Murphy has struggled a bit thus far and the late-round rookies aren’t certain commodities either.

While C.J. Henderson is not yet a sure thing given his age and overall lack of experience, the cornerback would offer substantial upside for the position that they simply lack right now. Moreover, Henderson’s man-coverage ability and traits would be a great fit with the Cardinals scheme.

Henderson is the perfect type of move for a young Cardinals defense trying to find their identity fully. He’s young enough to still get engrained in Arizona and, with the franchise’s aggressiveness this offseason, that would make a ton of sense.
