The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of 12 NFL franchises that have not hoisted the Lombardi Trophy during the current Super Bowl Era. They along with the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans are the four franchises that have never made an appearance on Super Sunday.

Off a 1-15 season in 2020, the team used the first overall pick in April on Clemson University signal-caller Trevor Lawrence. He led the Tigers to a national championship in 2019. And now he hopes to guide a pro franchise to the ultimate prize.

He got the nod last week against the Cleveland Browns. He would connect on six of his nine pass attempts for 71 yards. Lawrence was also sacked twice and did fumble but it did not result in a turnover. Now he will take the field at the Superdome as the Jaguars take on the Saints and another first overall pick in Jameis Winston (2015 with Buccaneers).
