Stud: S Tyrann Mathieu

Less than one minute into Sunday’s clash with the Ravens, the ball-hawking defensive back was at it again. Star performer Tyrann Mathieu wasn’t available in Week 1 when the Kansas City Chiefs rallied for a 33-39 victory over the visiting Cleveland Browns. But he was around to steal a Lamar Jackson pass and return it 34 yards for a touchdown to give his team a lead just 50 seconds into the contest.

Mathieu came up with another pick of Jackson later in the quarter. He finished the game with six tackles, all solo, the aforementioned two interceptions, and totaled three passes defensed.

Dud: WR Tyreek Hill

After watching the fleet-footed wideout burn the Cleveland Browns for 10 catches, 197 yards and one touchdown in Week 1, Ravens’ defensive coordinator Don Martindale appeared determined to make sure Chiefs’ wide receiver Tyreek Hill didn’t have a big evening in Baltimore against his team.

Perhaps more credit should go to the Ravens’ defense rather than putting blame on the three-time All-Pro. In any case, the speedy wideout was targeted only four times in Sunday night’s loss. Hill caught just three passes for a mere 14 yards and half of that latter total came on one play.
