Stud: TE Travis Kelce

It’s been a strong start to the season for the perennial Pro Bowler. Tight end Travis Kelce had a big night against the Ravens’ defense, which struggled to cover pass-catchers over the middle.

The perennial Pro Bowler was targeted eight times by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and caught seven passes for 109 yards. And his amazing 46-yard score in which he weaved his way through and over the Baltimore defense midway through the third quarter was quite impressive.

Dud: DE Chris Jones

This offseason, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and the Kansas City Chiefs’ brain trust opted to put their best defensive lineman on the outside. Chris Jones is still learning the difference of what it’s like to play the position and the Baltimore Ravens took full advantage of that on Sunday night. He finished the night with just one assist in the team’s 36-35 loss.

It’s worth noting that Kansas City allowed a whopping 251 yards on the ground in the one-point setback. Jones is not solely to blame and he figures to adapt as the season wears on. But in back-to-back weeks, the Browns’ and Ravens’ running games have thrived.
