Building an optimal DraftKings NFL Week 3 lineup with DFS picks and breakdowns for every position, construction advice and more for Sunday’s main slate.

There’s one thing on every DFS player’s mind: making the best DraftKings NFL Week 3 lineup possible. Anyone who has been around daily fantasy football for any length of time knows that’s much easier said than done on any given week, though.

Case in point would be a week ago. There were loads of DraftKings NFL users were stacked the Cowboys-Chargers game on either side, largely with the components of the passing game. So imagine the shock when the two high-octane offenses combined for just 37 points and Dallas relied heavily on the run game. That sunk a ton of lineups right from the jump, something we are looking to avoid in Week 3.

So where do we go from here now? Well, we know that the Sunday main slate won’t feature the Packers, 49ers, Cowboys or Eagles, which does remove some quality options. With that said, we have our advice and DFS picks ready to build what we believe is the optimal DraftKings NFL Week 3 lineup.

DraftKings NFL Week 3 lineup picks: Quarterback

You don’t need me to tell you that top-priced Kyler Murray ($8,300) is a good play. Not only does he get to play the Jaguars but he’s averaging 36.3 fantasy points per game so far. Patrick Mahomes ($8,200) is another spot where DFS players can’t go wrong as his matchup isn’t as good but he’s also matchup proof.

At the same time, those two players might be relative chalk, even with their price, on DraftKings. Thus, you might want to pivot and there are some great options on the main slate to do that and also save a bit of money.

Lamar Jackson ($7,800) isn’t hugely cheaper but I like him to have a big rushing day against a bad Lions defense. Russell Wilson ($7,600) is in a favorable spot vs. the Vikings and is also worth a play. I’m skeptical of Josh Allen ($7,000) and Tom Brady ($6,800) in what could be tough matchups, though their prices are intriguing.

We could see a big game from Justin Herbert ($6,500) as we’ve been waiting but Matthew Stafford ($6,400) is the better play at a similar price, as is Kirk Cousins ($6,300) in a potential shootout. All four of Ryan Tannehill ($6,200)Baker Mayfield ($6,000)Derek Carr ($5,900) and Teddy Bridgewater ($5,800) offer value but aren’t my best value plays.

Justin Fields ($5,200) is making his first start and, as such, his price hasn’t caught up. With the rushing upside the rookie offers, you aren’t going to beat this combination of price, high floor, and potential. The Bears rookie is a smash play for the versatility he offers in your lineup, even if you stack him with Chicago weapons.
