The Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 and if they want to secure a win, they need these three players to step up and play well.

For the second time in three games, the Dallas Cowboys are going to be featured in primetime. They kicked the season off on Thursday Night Football against the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

They lost in the final second but then played the Los Angeles Chargers in an afternoon game where they won in the final seconds. Now, they’re back in the spotlight as they will host the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

It’s the home opener for the Cowboys and we look ahead to the game and identify three players who need to perform to their best ability in order for them to secure a divisional win early in the 2021 NFL season.

Dallas is pretty thin at defensive end with DeMarcus Lawrence currently on IR. They’re also likely to be without Dorance Armstrong who is projected to start in his place.

The good news is, they have Randy Gregory back after he spent a week on the COVID reserve list. Still, they need someone to step up and play well opposite Gregory and the one who they will count on is Tarell Basham.

A free-agent addition from the New York Jets this offseason, Basham hasn’t made much of an impact as a pass rusher yet. He has five tackles with no sacks or pressures but he’s also played just 18 snaps thus far.

On Monday, he should get more and Dallas will need him to play up to their expectations. If not, it could end up being a long night where the secondary has to cover for far too long.
