11. Minnesota Vikings: Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC

The Minnesota Vikings got Danielle Hunter back this season and he’s picked up right where he lect off — by racking up five sacks in his first four games. There have been others on the defensive line getting after the quarterback, including Everson Griffen who returned this season and has two sacks in three games.

Still, he’s in his mid-30s which means the Vikings need someone on the younger side to pair with Hunter and that’s why they use this selection on Drake Jackson from USC. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 250-pounds, Jackson has played a stand-up role in recent years but has experience with his hand in the dirt, which is what Minnesota will have him do.

12. Philadelphia Eagles: George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue

Whether he wants to admit it or not, Nick Sirianni is probably wanted to replace Derek Barnett. The first-year Philadelphia Eagles head coach was seen on the sidelines saying “it’s always him” when Barnett was called for a pre-snap penalty and while he tried to say he wasn’t frustrated with Barnett, it comes across as him simply trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube after being caught.

In an effort to replace him, Sirianni and the Eagles go with George Karlaftis out of Purdue. He’s a large man at 6-foot-4 and 275-pounds and should fit nicely on the edge in Philly.
