Quarterly MVP odds: +2000 Derek Carr

The MVP odds of quarterback Derek Carr took a huge hit following a Week 4 drubbing at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers.

After leading the Las Vegas Raiders to victories as huge underdogs against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, eyes began to lock in on Carr and the Raiders. He kept things going with a close Week 3 win over the Miami Dolphins before ultimately getting rocked by the Chargers recently. The loss took away some of the shine and luster off Carr but his numbers are still terrific.

Here’s a sentence you probably weren’t expecting to hear this year but, Carr is leading the league in passing yards through four weeks. He currently stands at 1,399. Carr is also leading the entire NFL in yards per game with 349.8.

Don’t let the loss fool you, Carr is legit. Also, don’t let the comments made by Joey Bosa deter you from realizing how good Carr is. He’s as good as anyone for a dark horse spot.
