Quarterly MVP odds: +2000 Russell Wilson

It’s become one of the more jaw-dropping stats. Somehow, someway, Russell Wilson has never received a single MVP vote during his career. Quite frankly, it doesn’t make any sense, but considering how he’s started off this season, we don’t expect things to change.

Wilson always gets off to a great start at the beginning of the year but this time around, the Seattle Seahawks appear as though they could be on the verge of taking a step back. Granted, they are coming off a huge win against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4 but at 2-2, the Seahawks are going to need to pick things up to give Wilson a chance.

If we’re talking strictly raw numbers, Wilson could be ahead of everyone else. He might be slotted 16th in terms of total yards with 1,044 but everything else about Wilson’s game is clicking. Only three other quarterbacks in the entire league have been more accurate than Wilson and his 72.5 completion percentage. He’s also tied for the fourth most thrown touchdown passes with nine. Also, to further his MVP case, Wilson hasn’t thrown a single interception.

If the Seahawks can win the NFC West and Wilson can continue his superlative play, there’s a good chance that he does a lot more than simply get one MVP vote.
