4 Tua Tagovailoa trade landing spots in Deshaun Watson fallout

3 & 4. Pittsburgh Steelers or Seattle Seahawks

Two teams that like to make trades are the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Let’s start with the Steelers, who made a big move with the Dolphins not too long ago for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

That negotiating and relationship equity already exists there, and it’s become abundantly clear that Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t have a ton of time left.

Why not get Tagovailoa in the building, get him learning the offense, and have him as an option beyond this season? Sure, the Steelers have Dwayne Haskins, but Tua Tagovailoa is a better prospect and has higher upside.

Seattle lost Russell Wilson for the time being to a finger injury. There were also rumors about him being disgruntled over the course of the 2021 offseason, so much so that he had even leaked to Adam Schefter some preferred trade destination options.

If the Seahawks anticipate things going sour with Wilson again in the 2022 offseason, perhaps they can protect themselves by making a move like this because they have absolutely no draft ammo to work with.

Other teams that might consider a Tua Tagovailoa trade in a similar boat to the Steelers and Seahawks? Maybe the Saints take a look here, though Jameis Winston has played well. The Atlanta Falcons? New York Giants?

Any number of teams might have interest here depending on the asking price. Given Tua Tagovailoa’s injury history and his present on-field value, some team will likely be buying low.
