NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Jets lose Zach Wilson

There was absolutely nothing that seemed to go right for the New York Jets on Sunday. On the road against the New England Patriots, they surrendered 54 points as the Pats had three passing touchdowns — and 403 yards through the air — as well as four rushing touchdowns — and another 148 yards on the ground.

They were unable to get much pressure at all on rookie quarterback Mac Jones who was 24-of-36 with 307 yards before sitting down to enjoy watching the reserves in garbage time. As for the Jets rookie, Zach Wilson, he had a much worse game.

Wilson was sacked just once but he seemed to be running for his life on every snap. Overall, he was 6-of-10 for just 51-yards before having to exit with a knee injury. Mike White came in and threw a touchdown on his first-ever career pass but after that, he threw two interceptions.

After this defeat, the Jets are now 1-6 — and 0-2 against New England while being outscored 79-19 in those two outings. As for their next challenge, they will be against the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals as they host Joe Burrow and company who are coming off a big win over the Ravens. Right now, it seems as though the Jets need to be looking ahead to the offseason and try to decide what to do with their premium draft pick which will be coming.
