Quarterly MVP Rankings: 19. T.J. Watt +25000

Good luck trying to stop T.J. Watt from bull-rushing through the teeth of the defense, wrapping his gargantuan hands around your favorite quarterback, and introducing them to the cold, hard dirt.

Through just six games this season, Watt ranks second in the league with 8.5 sacks. Only Myles Garrett and his freakish huge arms have gotten more.

We won’t say he’s the sole reason why but Watt plays a huge part in a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that currently ranks in the top ten in almost every statistical category. Still, there’s a reason why defensive players have seldom won the league MVP award. Simply put, if you aren’t on the verge of breaking the all-time sacks record, voters aren’t going to reward you with the regular season’s most coveted award.

Also, to make sure bettors steer clear of Watt, we want them to realize that the Steelers are a fringe playoff contender with no true championship hopes. All in all, there’s no reason why anyone should take a chance on him, no matter how great the odds look.
