Quarterly MVP Rankings: 6. Aaron Rodgers +900

Truth be told, we’re a bit shocked to see Aaron Rodgers this high up. It hasn’t been a typical pristine year for the former multiple-time MVP winner. When was the last time Rodgers was ranked just 18th in terms of passing yards this far into an NFL season? We can’t remember.

We can’t completely dismiss his numbers though. 1,894 passing yards is nothing to sneeze at. Also, 17 touchdowns and just three interceptions prove that he’s still deadly with the ball in his hands but still, Rodgers isn’t dominating like we’re used to seeing.

More than anything, the Green Bay Packers record of 7-1 is keeping Rodgers amongst a handful of MVP hopefuls but we expect his odds to drop alarmingly due to his positive COVID-19 test and the entire weird debacle that’s currently taking place because of it. Who knows when Rodgers will be available to his team, especially since it was recently revealed that he isn’t vaccinated.

Rodgers already had a pretty low chance of winning back-to-back MVPs this year. At this point, his chances are getting slimmer and slimmer.
